Tucuma butter is a cousin of murumuru due to its skin loving myristic and lauric acids as well as low levels of stearic acid allowing it to glide easily over the skin with a super light silky feel that doesn't clog pores.
Tucuma butter is super light and absorbs quickly without a greasy after feel or residue. It's a popular choice amongst formulators for a hair conditioner due to ability to penetrate the hair shaft which leaves the hair healthy and shiny. Tucuma is especially loved by people with curly and ethnic hair types.
Tucuma butter is solid and will need to be melted for use or you can easily create a soft spreadable butter by using 4 parts tucuma butter to one part liquid oil; melt tucuma butter, add carrier oil like squalane and allow the mixture to cool completely before use. Works well in salves, balms and whipped butters.
