The Viral Japanese Yogurt Cheesecake
It all started with a single TikTok posted in January 2026 by creator Stan Fukase, who made a "cheesecake" using just two ingredients — Greek yogurt and cookies. From there, the video snowballed across TikTok and Instagram, with creators everywhere posting their own versions and sharing that same shell-shocked first bite.
Here's my take: a clean, high-protein, healthy dessert that hits the spot every single time.
One thing I do differently, I skip the thick Greek yogurt. The density actually prevents the cookies from softening properly, so I opt for a regular yogurt instead, which gives you that perfect, spoonable cheesecake texture.
What You'll Need
- 1 container of yogurt (any size)
- Walker's Shortbread Cookies — my go-to because they're made with just three ingredients (butter, flour, and sugar) and are lower in sugar, which means you're in control of the sweetness/calories.
- Honey, to taste (optional)
- Fresh fruit, for topping (optional)
How To Make It
- Open your yogurt container and press the cookies in, fitting as many as you can.
- Put the lid back on and place in the fridge overnight.
- The next day, enjoy as-is, or top with a drizzle of honey and fresh fruit for a fun twist.
That's it. No baking, no blending, no cleanup — just a creamy, satisfying dessert waiting for you in the morning.
