Healing my acne has been a journey with a lot of trial and error. I had previously bought the acne bundle with Kossma and at first it seemed to work but then after giving it several months i was still having big breakouts. It seemed like every time I had one breakout clear, I would get another one a day or two later.
I came across some information about how the skin barrier on your face can be broken from previous breakouts and just using too many products, especially stripping ones, and can contribute to skin issues like acne. Around this same time I had started learning about the benefits of colostrum for your gut health and how it’s antibacterial. Well I was looking at my skincare products and noticed that I had purchased a jar of the milky mask but hadn’t really used it (mainly bc I’m not a mask person and sometimes am not patient enough to wait around to wash it off). I noticed it had colostrum in it and I thought if it’s antibacterial for your gut it’s probably antibacterial for your face (I started to think my acne had root causes of bacteria).
I decided to be consistent with it and see if it improved my acne. After the first night, I washed it off my face and it instantly felt smoother and softer (I believe that’s in part due to the pearl polish which is a great exfoliant). My skin also looked less red, especially around the inflamed acne. Instead of doing the mask only one or twice a week I started using it EVERY day. Within a week I noticed my acne going down and anything that started to pop up during the day, I would apply the mask at night and the next day the redness was gone or minimal and had gone down in size (depending on the size of the breakout). I also started adding another product from Kossma right after the mask called Golden Yolk Ghee Oil which also had colostrum and that helped maximize my results with the mask. When I would put on the oil I would also do my red light for 6 minutes on my face and that really maximized my results that I would notice next morning. My breakouts decreased and even when I did get one the time to recover from them accelerated. I have been doing this for about 8+ months and probably once or twice I’ve gotten a pimple that I think is either hormonal or stress related because they don’t seem to heal as quickly. It’s crazy but I now I don’t have to wear makeup if I don’t want to bc the acne has cleared to At most being very minimal in size and duration. It took several months of consistently doing this routine every day until my barrier healed, if I slacked off for two days in a row I would break out again. But I share all this because I hope it might help give someone a routine to try if their acne hasn’t resolved either. I added other things to my routine as well from Kossma that have just made my skin look great!
My routine:
PM
-wash with Chamomile Cleanser (add pearl polish powder to help get dead skin off and leftover makeup)
- milky mask for about 20 minutes or longer
-Golden Yolk Oil paired with 6 min of red light for optimal results
AM
-wash my face with water (want to limit stripping your face of oils and good bacteria if your skin barrier is damaged)
-sometimes I’ll spritz rosewater
-Kossma Vitamin C oil (helped my complexion brighten and scarring reduce)
